So what does the word 'pagan' actually mean?
It stems from the Latin word paganus meaning 'country dweller' and referred in early time to those who lived beyond the reach of the early Church.
The more isolated country people continued to honour the Old Gods: of the animals and forests, of the springs, rivers and wells.
These Deities were usually associated with the locality in which families had lived and died for centuries. So what do Pagans believe in today? First, Pagans believe that everything in the Universe is sacred. The old gods that our ancestors revered speak to the pagans of today, connecting us again with the land of our ancestors.

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing, you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

Photobucket Sea Witches
For centuries stories of sea witches have predominately enhanced British folklore. The tradition of the Sea Witch still exists. Sea Witches focus on Moon lore, the tides, and weather magicks. From these elements came the Witch tradition of women who could raise wind and cause storms.
Currently the path of the Sea Witch is one chosen by few Pagans. The Sea Witch works with the chaotic forces of nature. Many term chaos evil, especially those enthralled with the powers of light. Here the Sea Witch differs, she or he recognizes that chaos, if evil at all, is a necessary evil because the chaotic climatic elements are part of the environment of the sea. Thus, the Sea Witch does not just use "white magick" and/or "black magick," but "gray magick" because the person deals with all elements at her/his disposal when maintaining a balance between light and dark powers. Not many ordinary persons can manage such a feat, which is why most Sea Witches are solitary, working alone and by themselves.
Sea magick pertains to magick performed involving the element of Water, usually performed by the seashore; however, in modern times, depending on the location of the Witch, substitutes such as a lake, river, pond, or bath tube can be used. Even placing a bowl of salt water on an altar with the proper intention will suffice. The magick is usually sea related. Although several types of magick may be performed, the most common is weather magick since precipitation is water related. Such activity stems from old traditions when sea witches were called upon to control the weather to insure seafarers safe voyages. Related to Sea Magick is Moon Magick since the Moon controls the tides of the sea.
According to legends witches were believed to be able to control the wind. One method was with the use of three knots tied into a rope, or sometimes into a handkerchief. When the three knots were tied in the proper magical way, the wind was bound up in them. Witches gave, or sometimes sold, these magic knots to sailors to help them experience safe voyages (see Ligature). The release of one knot brought a gentle, southwesterly wind; two knots, a strong north wind; and three knots, a tempest. In the folklore of the Shetland Islands and Scandinavia, some fishermen were said to have commanded the wind this way.
In other legends the activities of witches and sorcerers have been confused, which is a commom practice even today. For example, Sir Francis Drake is said to have sold his soul to the Devil in order to become a skilled seaman and admiral. The Devil allegedly sent Drake sea witches, who raised a storm that helped him to defeat the Spanish Armada in 1588. The battle occurred near Devil's point, overlooking Davonport, which, by some, is still considered haunted by witches.
In summary, Sea Witch magick strives to achieve a balance between light and dark powers; the Witch does not focus more on one than the other. The reason for this is that the Sea Witch realizes such a balance is maintained throughout the continuum of life, even in oneself, just as it is in the environment of the sea. She/he experiences emotional depression and optimism at times, neither are harmful for short durations and both help establish personal emotional stability. When understanding this the Witch, or person, is more complete and better able to deal with life's situations. A.G.H.

The Celts were very religious and believed in reincarnation and the migration of the soul to the after life after death. They did not believe in punishment after death. The Celtic Pantheon held many female deities of primary importance ranging from war goddesses to mother goddesses to ruling goddesses. They also believed in 3 aspects of the God/dess, three aspects of a single god. The teachings of the Druids could be summed up quite easily: worship the gods, be strong, courageous and do no evil. Human sacrifices by the blade, burning, or drowning were done because it was believed that a life must be given for a life, as in murder, accidental killing, extreme illness, or to be spared from the horrors of battle. Generally, those who were killed were prisoners of war or criminals. This practice does not, however, seem to have been used much at all in Ireland and Britain. Female were equal to males and held just as much power. The Priestesses were highly revered. Priestesses sang the dying to sleep, did charms, enchantments, prophecies, healing, etc. They knew the power of words, stones and herbs. One of the central features of their Groves was a cauldron, bowl or pool. Curses were cast for any mistreatment of women. Red-hair females were sacred to the war Goddesses, as their hair was the color of blood.

Aeval Other Names: Aebhel. Location: Ireland. Description: Goddess who in popular legend is a faery, who held a midnight court to hear the debate on whether the men of her province were keeping their women sexually satisfied or not. She commanded that the men bow to the women's sexual wishes. Rules Over: Lust, sex magick, wisdom in making judgements

The Dark Side
The Dark Side....it is far too often ignored. Why?
Without the Dark Side, there is and can never be Light. The Craft is built on balance.
What is it about the term "Dark Side" that seems to instill such fear, such silence and even loathing?
No one can truly call themselves "Witch" without thoroughly understanding and using the Dark Side, yet so many ignore it and never learn to accept it, to work with it.
These are the "Fluffy Bunnies" we hear referred to, so often. They are not Judeo-Christian but they are NOT Witches either. They are stuck in the middle. Lost somewhere between both worlds and welcome in none.

This integral part of life, nature, spirituality - in fact, all worlds - all places - seen or unseen.
The sun rises and sets - night blankets the world and then a new day is born. The moon waxes and wanes - a new moon begins. We are born, we live and we die - to be reborn. The Wheel turns from the birth of the light, the Sun, at Yule to the ending of the year - the time of the Crone at Samhain - the dark respite.

The Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. The Youth, the Warrior and the Sage. All represent the turn from light to dark.

Fear of the Dark side seems rooted in the Judeo-Christian philosophies which so permeate our society. The boogieman hides in the dark - dark is black and everyone knows evil is black. The night hides the wicked. And to whom do we owe all this evil? Apparently, Satan. Well, as a Wiccan - it is not possible to believe in Satan. He is man-made. A tool used to keep the great unwashed in line. How best to control the uneducated masses than through fear? Only through the church can the poor peasant be saved from this evil being....

Incredible grasp of human psychology for such an early time in our history. It worked in an absolutely phenomenal fashion. It still works today and in the same phenomenal fashion. Intelligent, educated people are convinced that when they pass from this realm..if they have not lived Christian lives - they will burn in hell. Sharing space with such notables as Genghis Khan; Josef Stalin; Adolf Hitler; Bundy and Dahmer. Spending eternity picked by pitchforks and surrounded by the stench of sulphur and brimstone. Pretty scary stuff, scary enough to keep people on the straight and narrow...at least on Sundays.

It is from these stories that the fear of the Dark Side finds it's roots. From early man's natural instinct to seek cover from the night through to modern day and our boogieman - the Dark Side has been tainted by terrors. Before we can begin to understand the Dark Side - it is necessary to throw off the chains of a Judeo-Christian society. These fears must be faced and vanquished. There is nothing to fear from this part of Wicca - without it, there is nothing. The Light means nothing. It simply can't exist without the balance of the Dark. Understand that all these secret dreads are false images created with the sole intention of intimidating the masses. There is no devil waiting to grab us and take us down to Hell; Jason/Michael/Freddy Kruger are not hiding under the bed or lurking in the closet.,

The Dark Side is the side of rest, of banishing that which we no longer need or causes us pain, hurt and/or stresses. It is a time for wisdom and knowledge - of communing with the Crone. Its a time to seek justice and strength. It is a time to be introduced and to renew power. Respect the Dark and it will open up a whole new world of knowledge and experience.

Nothing in Craft is easily attained. True understanding and knowledge can only come after years of blood, sweat and tears. Learning the aspects of Light and Dark requires extremely difficult self-knowledge as well as studying. Tearing open old scars and examining where our fears and thereby finding our weaknesses, is a hard battle. A long and emotionally draining battle but absolutely and totally necessary if we are to really earn the honourable title of Witch.

The Druids Were very important people in Ireland and their symbol was the Snake of Wisdom. Druids could be priests of the old religion of Ireland, but There were also much more. One part of the Druid class were the "Bards", whose job it was to remember all Of the history of the people, as well as to record current events. Because the Irish Celts did not rely on a written language, everything had to be memorized. Bards were poets and musicians, and used music and poetry to help them remember their history exactly. Because of this, Bards were highly respected members of The Irish society. The Irish believed that history was very important, for if You didn't remember what had happened in the past, you couldn't safely plan for The future. Bards, therefore, held the future of the people in safekeeping. Another important part of the Druidic class were the "Brehons". Brehons were The Judges and the Keepers of the Laws. The Celtic people had a highly Complicated society, and with it, a highly developed set of laws. Brehons Trained for many years to learn the laws of the people, so that whenever there Was a dispute, the Brehon could Fairly decide the matter and make peace. The laws were there to make sure that Everyone; man, woman, and child, were treated fairly and with respect. Because Of the wisdom that the Brehons held, and the knowledge of the laws of the Society, they too, like the Bards, were held with much respect. And, of course, there were the Druid Priests. This branch of the Druid set Were the keepers of the knowledge of Earth and Spirits. It was their Responsibility to learn the Spirit World, in order to keep people and Earth in Harmony. Priests performed marriages and "baptisms", they were healers, and Psychiatrists. The Priests were The wise grandparents to whom you could go with a problem. They were there to Help you solve them, with the help of the Earth and the Spirit World. By Flame RavenHawk

Good and Evil by Crowshadower There is a reason why I say that Good and Evil do not exist. It's quite simple, Really: Have you ever seen an Evil animal? An Evil stone or tree? No, because in Nature there is only motivation and action. Balance is maintained because it is The way things work. Humans have been led to believe that because we are Cognizant, we are better than animals. This is the source of the idea of Good And Evil; our ability to think about our actions beyond the instinctive level is Taken to mean we have greater control over ourselves, which is true to a certain Extent. Being capable of thinking about our actions should mean that we are able to Accept the consequences of our actions and not blame an abstract concept of Evil Or Good. It is easier to excuse an ill thought or downright malicious action by Saying ‘The Devil made me do it’ than to admit that you are at fault. It is Easier to say ‘He’s just plain Evil’ than to realize that society is failing a Lot of people and allowing psychologically disturbed individuals to go unnoticed (In these cases, perhaps the nature of Evil is apathy and complacency, of which We may all be guilty.)

Druid, meaning "man with the wisdom of the wood." The Druids were highly secretive people, but even so, they did leave their mark, and Archaeologists are still finding evidence of their religious beliefs today. The Druids were believed to have a magical mist to prevent armies from fighting. They were believed to be able to call up this mist during war times, to hinder the vision of attacking armies.
Moonlite....by Charlynn Walls January 1st, 2010
Druids have been bards and teachers. They are the keepers of knowledge that was first passed down through oral traditions and then in the written form. The Druid Revival stemmed from what these ancient ancestors passed down and is a recreationist tradition.
Ancient druidic traditions venerate the earth and its inhabitants and their interconnectedness. Neo-Druidry has neither a central governing body nor dogma. Much like Wicca, Druidry has many internal paths.
Being a spiritual path there is no one way to be a Druid and as such there are monotheists, polytheists, pantheists, and animists all following the path. How one relates to deity is personal, profound, and accepted. Diversity and tolerance are characteristic of those in a Druidic path.
Common beliefs include those surrounding life, death, and the afterlife. There is the belief that there is an inner and outer grove.,
The inner grove is where they do the majority of their spiritual work and build stores that can replenish them in hard times. The outer grove serves a similar purpose but is a place where they can physically reconnect with the land.
Reincarnation is a widely held concept for Druids. For a Druid death is not seen negatively. It is a stepping stone to another life and is celebrated.,
Though the natural world is a large part of the Druidic practice there is a belief in the Otherworld. This is a realm that exists beyond what we know in the physical plane. The depiction of the Otherworld for Druids may differ, but the path recognizes its influence and impact.,
So, how does the Druid path work for those that follow it? It provides a framework for them to interact and define the world in which they live. The respect and value they show for nature extends from there to all life. They exhibit tolerance for all because of the interconnectedness of all life.
Much like many other pagan traditions the Druidic path follows the wheel of the year. The eight festivals include the solstices and equinoxes (eight sabbats of Wicca). Those who follow a druidic path can be associated with a grove, hedge, an order, or practice on their own.
The have a Reverence for all, personal responsibility, knowing one’s self, friendship, honor, and a generous spirit.

thank you Seastar

Those who seek wisdom beyond the natural limits will retain good hearing and clear vision. Their bodies will remain light and strong. Although they grow old in years, they will stay able-bodied and vigorous and be capable of governing to great advantage. For this reason the ancient sages did not rush into the affairs of the world. In their pleasures and joys they were dignified and tranquil. They did what they thought best and did not bend their will or ambition to the achievement of empty ends Thus their allotted span of life was without limit, like that of Heaven and earth

Druids In the harsh environment of Northwestern Europe came a different type of Wizard from the Middle Eastern biblical mages of antiquity. Desiring to tame or At least temper the ferocity of their environment, these wizards became students Of nature; ritualists of flora and fauna. These wizards, known as Druids among The Celts, Picts, and Gauls, and Spae-workers and Vitki among the Norse and Teutons, wielded ritual magic geared toward the taming of the elemental forces Of nature to ensure the continuation of their race. Many of them were master Healers, skilled in the knowledge of herbalism and of magical healing ritual. Unlike the biblical wizards such as Aaron, Samuel, Solomon, and Jesus, whose Purpose was to lead masses of people, the druids and their ilk shied away from Leadership roles, performing a more supportive or "staff" role in the Organization of their tribal culture. Also unlike the great biblical wizards, Quite often druids and spae-workers were female instead of male. Indeed, druidic Magic relied heavily upon the feminine energies of the Earth and Nature, rather Than the masculine energies of pure Spirit employed by Elisha and Solomon. Bards, (known as Skaldr among the Norse and Teutons) were wizards skilled in the Use of magic through music and poetic form. As entertainers, they were superb; As wizards, they employed the magic of the spoken word, rhyme, tempo, cadence, And melody to weave their powerful spells. A bard had to know three things: How to make people laugh, how to make people cry, and how to put them to sleep (often to escape from persecution). Among the Norse, spae-workers were classified by the gender of the magic Involved. Galdr-workers invoked the masculine, outward, proactive energies, Symbolized by the runes, and most often were men, although there were female Runic vitkis as well. Seith (Seidhr)-workers invoked the feminine, receptive Energies of nature, and was involved in shamanic travel (astral projection), Shape-shifting, and soothsaying. Females were most likely to be seith-workers, Although a few males also practiced the art. It is rumored that Odhinn taught Freyja the arts of Galdr, and she taught him the arts of Seith. In order to do This, each one had to ritually "become" the other gender for a period of time to Be able to grasp the mysteries. For the uninitiated and unenlightened, this was Considered to be a point of derision, against nature, and thus spae-workers were Often shunned and feared, or made jest of. Druidic magic was very ritualistic and heavily steeped in ceremony. Rituals Were performed at specific ceremonies, especially those having to do with the Lunar and solar cycles. The changing of the seasons was an especially important Ritual period for the druids, as was the middle point of each season. For a Society heavily based on agriculture and hunting, their magic was geared towards The planting, harvest, and hunting cycles, seen in the festivals of Imbolc (Disting), Lammas (Loaf-Fest), Yule (Jul), Eostre (Ostara), Samhain (Winternights), Beltane (Walpurgis), Mabon, and Midsummer (Litha). Minor Rituals were held at the new and full moons, and at important events during the Year (birthing and death rituals, etc.) The new and full moon rituals occurred Roughly every 14 days. The new moon ritual was considered the "inbreath" cycle Of nature, when the energies flowed back into the Earth. The full moon ritual Worked with the "outbreath" cycle, when the energies flowed from the earth back To the spirit. The two-week period of time involved for each cycle was called a "fortnight," (14 nights), and to this day, this is still a time reference used By the British. Believing (correctly) that the Earth had meridians of power on its surface Called "ley lines" or dragon currents, the Druids used massive standing stones Known as dolmans (flat table rocks) and menhirs (vertical stones) embedded in The earth as points of energy concentration. This is not unlike the process of Acupuncture used for ridding the human body of disease and ailment. Druids were also schooled in practical magic. They employed magical herbalism On a regular basis, as well as work with magical symbols such as runes and Oghams (pronounced OY-ams), carved on wood or stone. The oghams and runes Functioned as alphabets as well, because the druids believed that the true Essence of magic was carried by the word; the essence of thought transmitted Through language. Each one of the oghams represented a tree energy, which could Be tapped upon by the druid by the use of focussed concentration. A mistaken belief is that the druids regularly practiced human sacrifice, Preying upon the weak, women, and children. This unfortunate fable was spread During the Christianization of Europe when the missionaries sought to demonize any existing religions so that their own, Christianity, would have no rivals. During this process, the sacred dolmans and menhirs were defiled, mutilated, and often destroyed, the ancient gods turned into demons of horrific countenance and deed, and the druids and bards were killed as emissaries of Satan, often employing the Roman method of crucifixion. The following is an excerpt from William Butler Yeats' tragic and horrifying recounting of the crucifixion of one of these wizards: "The Crucifixion of the Outcast (1898)." The "outcast," a bardic wizard, is being crucified for having dared to complain about the conditions of the guest quarters at the local monastery to the abbot. ... A half-mile on the way he asked them to stop and see him juggle for them; for he knew, he said, all the tricks of Aengus and Subtlehearted. The old monks were for pressing on, but the young monks would see him: so he did many wonders for them, even to the drawing of live frogs out of his ears. But after awhile they turned on him, and said his tricks were dull and a little unholy, and set the cross on his shoulders again. Another half-mile on the way, and he asked them to stop and hear him jest for them, for he knew, he said, all the jests of Conan the Bald, upon whose back a sheep's wool grew. And the young monks, when they had heard his merry tales, again bade him to take up his cross, for it ill became them to listen to such follies. Another half-mile on the way, he asked them to stop and hear him sing the story of white-breasted Dierdre, and how she endured many sorrows and how the sons of Usna died to serve her. And the young monks were mad to hear him, but when he ended they grew angry, and beat him for waking forgotten longings in their hearts. So they set the cross on his back, and hurried him up the hill . . . . . . So then they went away, but the beggars stayed on, sitting round the cross. But when the sun was sinking, they also got up to go, for the air was getting chilly. And as soon as they had gone a little way, the wolves, who had been showing themselves on the edge of a neighboring coppice, came nearer, and the birds wheeled closer and closer. "Stay, outcasts, yet a little while," the crucified one called in a weak voice to the beggars, "and keep the birds and beasts from me." But the beggars were angry that he had called them outcasts, so they threw stones and mud at him, and one that had a child held it up before his eyes and said that he was its father, and cursed him, and thereupon they left him. Then the wolves gathered at the foot of the cross, and the birds flew lower and lower. And presently the birds lighted all at once upon his head and arms and shoulders and began to peck at him, and the wolves began to eat his feet. "Outcasts," he moaned, "have you all turned against the outcast?" The Celtic and Pictish warriors often sacrificed their captured enemies to their gods in gratitude of the victory. The warrior's heads would be preserved and mounted on pikes, since the Celts believed that the head was the seat of wisdom. Sacrifice was also done as a mercy to the warriors; the Celts reckoned that it was far worse to serve in slavery than to die quickly and go to the Gods to be reborn again. However, the only time the druids (wizards) ever employed human blood ritual was during the ritual of the sacrifice of the Sacred King. During this time, the tribal ruler or a representative of his house was sacrificed and the blood was allowed to flow onto the earth to rejuvenate it or give life back to it. Not only practiced among the Celts and Britons, but also among the Norse and Teutonic tribes, this sacrifice was held when A) the head of the ruling house was deemed to be ineffective, sterile, or having "lost his luck (haminjia), or B) when the land was in peril of destruction or defeat from outside parties. Many believe that such a ritual sacrifice took place during the Battle for Britain during World War II, and that the successful rendering of the sacrifice turned Hitler away from the invasion of Britain. The wizard Jesus, thought among esoteric circles to be of the Celtic lineage as well as Judaic, underwent this sacrificial ritual for the whole of humanity during his crucifixion. After his death, it is believed that his uncle, Joseph of Arimathea, took the grail hallows (the cup, the spear, the stone, and the sword) to Britain and entombed them at Glastonbury, one of the ancient wisdom centers. Many British esotericists believe that the Grail cup still remains in Chalice Well at Glastonbury Abbey, where the reddish tint of the high-ferrous content of the waters there is both reminiscent and causative of Christ's blood. Even in ancient times the Celtic druids knew of the coming of Yesu (Jesus). A reading from the ancient Celtic Triads is: The Lord our God is one. Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of Glory shall come in. Who is the King of Glory? The Lord Yesu; He is the King of Glory. How the Druidic wizards knew the consecrated name so long beforehand (predating Jesus' appearance on earth by more than 500 years) is indeed a mystery in itself. The name "Yesu" was incorporated in the Druidic Trinity as the Godhead. In Britain the name Jesus never assumed its Greek or Latin form. It was always the pure Celtic "Yesu;" it never changed. With the Christianization of Northern Europe, gradually the druidic tradition died out as an exoteric religious force. Eventually realizing that violent action was not enough to overcome the ancient traditions in England, Ireland, and mainland Germany and Scandinavia, Christianity resorted to incorporating many of the druidic rites and festivals into its own frame of references. Thus the Druidic fertility ritual of Eostre became the Christian ritual of rebirth and renewal of Easter, and the rebirth of the God at the Winter solstice became the Christian celebration of Jesus' birth. Imbolc became Candlemas, Samhain became All Hallows (and thusly Hallowe'en), and Midsummer and Lammas were all but forgotten. Esotericists and wizards didn't forget the old ways, though, and they were kept alive through their secret studies and traditions, quietly passing them down from father to son, mother to daughter, grandparent to grandchild, becoming as much a part of their reality as the new structure that had been forcibly superimposed on them. http://www.wizardrealm.com/ wizards/druids.html

Written April 12, 2008 They Wait Photobucket THEY COME For a friend who forgot the caveat They come on silent waves. No foot steps betray their presents. Always lurking never far away. They wait, They bide their time. Waiting and watching. Always for the right time. They can move rapidly and remove them selves as quickly. Or slowly they creep Unknown, Or noticed to most Sunshine or shadows they wait. A festive time, they wait. If the moon is right and the weary beat down. They move. A lovely day, everyone enjoy. They come Never alone they mass. More if needed, and more. Always out numbering. They can not do. But can persuade. Convincing, they grow. More powerful they become. Seems correct, and must be right. They are there. They work and work to convince. They never quit and they are good Time immortal they are But The promise followed stop them. NEVER MAKE THAT IMPORTANT DECESION AT NIGHT. ALWAYS WAIT UNTIL THE SUN This has worked for how long? No one knows handed down thru the mists of time But not forget the caveat…. sleep first and rest Go to the other side and come back. My eyes drew heavy Did I hear... strained to hear, would she be sweet and kind... or just take, to possess and then to ignore? No, She would liberate, with joy, not of this world. A rattle, the wind rose and a sigh thru the trees. Was she coming? Would I see and be lucky enough, to be chosen? The winds increasing and suddenly the lightening. Was she here? Did she see or did she reject? The Winds power became known and grew to such a furry. The lighting increased and yet the winds raged even more. I felt as if my friends the trees would be ripped from their roots and cast about as so many tooth picks. I wondered did she come and yet another, unknown to me ? Maybe jealous? And the two fought over me? An inspiration, But, I was ready to go. To enjoy the world of the Fairy, an Elf. Would I fit in? But maybe unbeknownst to me another seeks and will not allow this. Smile Photobucket Placed in blog Jan 30, 2010 Magic is simply a matter of tuning out the constant static of society and the babble of other people, and listening to your own heart. You don't need a guru, or a therapist, or a life coach, or anyone to tell you how to listen to your heart. All you have to do is remember the original knowledge you were born with. Look at the teachers, churchmen, scout leaders, politicians, media manipulators, businessmen, and academics whom you have permitted to define your opinions and aspirations. You know in your heart that this is all a con, a lie, a trap, but you don't see any way out of it. There is a way out, however. The path to true freedom lies in your own heart. Magic is a point of view, a different way of looking at everyday life. The magical point of view, however, is not at all like the point of view which enables you to operate in society, and to fulfill the expectations of other people. For example, our present-day society believes, and has taught you to believe, that spirits don't exist. They do, however. You know this in your heart. You have had psychic, paranormal experiences yourself. Everyone has. Those that say that haven't are lying to themselves (deliberating misinterpreting information that is right there in front of their eyes). You know in your heart that what society says about magic is false. Why on earth would you believe that society is telling you the truth about anything? Magic is not a matter of altered states of consciousness, or of ooga-booga rituals. Rather, it's a matter of taking a good, hard look at your present situation. Magic means examining your everyday life and yourself objectively. Magic requires seeing yourself with no personal feelings at all, as if you were a detached critic. Our society teaches us that magic is an escape from reality. On the contrary, the practice of magic entails directly coming to grips with reality. Magic is as ancient as humankind, but it has been forgotten in all the rush to make a buck and to fulfill other people's expectations. Now the time for magic has come around again. Magic and astrology will rise once more if the human race is to survive, not to mention prosper. These are heady times. We can all feel the change in the air, the crackle of energy. We sense that human consciousness is going through a fundamental transformation. The human race is coming to a crunch. Human society and human consciousness are on the brink of a major breakthrough; or else of self-destruction. More and more people are casting about looking for straight answers that they're not getting from their governments, media, academics, or churches. Luckily all the answers and tools you need are right there, in your own heart, if you could only connect to it. The practice of magic will help you to make that connection. Magic can be defined as the intentional manipulation of luck, by means of the deliberate cultivation of intuition. Most people believe that luck and intuition are haphazard affairs. Magicians, however, seek to control them. Is magic real? It most certainly is, but not in the sense in which the popular media, such as the American television program Charmed, would have you believe. On television and in movies magicians are portrayed as having special powers that they are born with, such as freezing or repelling enemies, making things appear and disappear, and so forth. This is untrue (however, the scene in which Kim Novak bewitched Jimmy Stewart in the movie Bell, Book, and Candle is actually not that far off the mark). Magicians are like everyone else, but perhaps are more psychic and intuitive than the norm. The difference between magicians and most people is one of degree rather than of kind. Magicians tend to be more rebellious than average, and less fearful of the consequences of their rebellion. Ever since childhood they've known that they were different somehow, that they didn't fit in; and most likely they were castigated for this by their family and schoolmates. Magicians tend not to trust in what they were taught – in what everyone around them is taking for granted – and they tend to be more ready to fly with their impulses than are average people. This misperception about magic and magicians is a shame, since the truth about magic is far more interesting, compelling, and personally applicable in our own lives than the false stereotypes which appear in the popular media. It's not that magicians have supernormal powers. Rather, from the magicians' point of view, most people are walking around with both hands – their intuition and intent – tied behind their backs. They are paralyzed by their fear of disapproval. They learn this fear from their parents and society, and they pass it on to their own children in turn. Thus, to most people, magicians' use of their "hands" seems like the use of supernormal powers. However, magicians have no power beyond what most people possess – they just use their power. They use their intuition to process incoming information, and they use their intent to influence the outside world. Most magicians don't even know that they are magicians. They do not understand or consider what they are doing to be magic, since it comes so naturally to them. Magicians who happen to be Christians or capitalists would scoff at the idea that they are magicians using magic. But anyone who applies the techniques of magic to get what they want from life, anyone who has some degree of mastery in the use of intuition and intent, is a magician. Actually, we are all magicians. We are all performing magic all the time. Just to exist in this world requires considerable magical ability and prowess. Anybody who is highly successful and original, such as Bill Gates, for example, is using the principles of magic unknowingly. The appellation "magician" in fact transcends species. Magicians are born amongst all species: there are hawk magicians, whale magicians, oak magicians, and so forth. Magicians of any species are recognizable since they are basically outsiders who go their own way and prefer solitude to the company of other members of their species. Human magicians actually have more in common with animal or plant magicians than they do with other humans who are not magicians. What magicians pay attention to and seek in everyday life is quite different from what most people pay attention to and seek. Most people seek security; magicians seek freedom. These two goals are incompatible. Most people believe that they and the world surrounding them are real. Magicians believe that the world and the self are merely projections, like a movie on a screen or the shadows in Plato's cave. Where most people seek to manipulate the world for their advantage and convenience, magicians seek to manipulate their perception. That is to say, magicians change the world by changing their perception of it, rather than by fussing about trying to make things happen outside themselves. Where most people are guided by the conventional thinking of their culture and epoch, magicians, both black and white, are guided by spirits until they get their own intuition and intent working. Unlike the Abrahamic religions (which includes rationalistic materialism – the pseudo-science practiced in academia), magic is not a belief system: it is a cognitive system. It is a way of apprehending rather than thinking. It is a way of acting rather than talking. Magicians receive their approbation directly from the Spirit – not from society's pat on the head for being a good little doggy. The chief difference between average people and magicians is that average people always seem to be looking for a free ride or escape from their problems. They hope and believe that they will someday have an epiphany; or meet a true guru or a soul-mate; or win the lottery; and from then on all their problems will be solved. However, even people who have had epiphanies, or met true gurus or soul-mates, or won the lottery, found that this didn't particularly solve anything for them. Do you honestly believe that the rich and famous are any happier than anyone else? Hoping for some fantasy to come true in order to be happy is absurd. Life just isn't like that, except in the movies; and magicians, unlike average people, are supreme realists. Most of what magicians do isn't done by supernormal means, but by facing squarely the way things really are, instead of the way they have been taught to perceive them by their parents and society. Most people chafe and struggle against their circumstances, and pine for a fantasy which will release them from their bondage. Magicians, unlike most people, start from right where they are. They accept the situation in which they find themselves right now. Magicians take responsibility for their present situation instead of trying to escape from it. In other words the secret of magic, which is commonly misunderstood, is to adapt to circumstances rather than try to dominate or control circumstances. It's by adapting yourself as best you can without losing your hope and intent, without letting your circumstances crush you or surrendering to your self-pity, that you can change your circumstances. The first step in magic is to get beyond your assumptions. This means seeing them clearly in the first place. It implies seeing yourself as others do, for starters. Magicians don't take anything for granted. They have no specific expectations, and the only assumption they make is that whatever happens will be a big surprise. Isn't it usually the case that when the solutions to our problems do come, they scarcely ever happen the way we anticipated and fantasized? Thus, magicians don't have to think as much as most people do. They don't have to worry, or plan, or scheme about the future. Nor do magicians hide their shame from the past. They don't care as much as most people do about what has happened or what will happen. They know they have no real control over either their past or future, so they don't have to defend what they did or worry about what they might do. The terms "magic" and "shamanism" or "witchcraft" are interchangeable. The main difference between paganism and magic is that paganism is a religion and magic is a technology. However the two are closely entwined for many practitioners, although you can be a magician without being a pagan. Indeed, in the literal sense of the word, there are Christian magicians, Buddhist magicians, Hindu magicians, scientist magicians, banker magicians, star athlete magicians, and so on. Anyone who is using magic to further their intent – i.e., operating on direct knowing rather than thinking, whether they are conscious of what they are doing or not – has to be considered a magician. Thus while many pagans are also magicians, not all magicians are also pagans. Magic can be considered a spiritual path. It is a path in which you are given a lot more power and knowledge than you have earned (usually by spirits, which is the reason why magicians invoke them). In trying to control this power you are forced to put the rest of your life in order. Thus power is the spur and motivation to action. What is power, then? It can be considered the same thing as luck, freedom, or responsibility. Power and freedom are the same thing. They both arise upon taking responsibility for your own destiny instead of just drifting along, or buying into society's version of what is good and desirable. What is responsibility? It is not blaming other people, or God, for your own unhappiness. Rather, it is understanding that you have deliberately, if unconsciously, chosen the situations in which you find yourself. For us as individuals to try to reconstruct magic in this dark age of materialism is tantamount to an intellectual adventurer a thousand years from now who stumbles upon some relic PC's and, knowing of legends that the ancients had machines which could think, sets out to reconstruct computer knowledge by himself. Magic, like computer science, is most effective if society as a whole is devoting much of its energy to it. One or a few scattered individuals working alone can't accomplish much. Magic is an ancient knowledge which it is now our duty as a society to reconstruct if the human race is to survive, not to mention progress. This is what the much-vaunted coming transformation of consciousness is all about. Over the coming century, as society collapses and things start to fall apart and people lose their faith in society's lies, magic and astrology will become the world religion once more. But it's not a "religion". It's just a matter of getting beyond beliefs, opening up your heart, and seeing things as they are. FAQ's Does magic really exist? The answer is yes. It most assuredly does exist. The problem is that existence doesn't exist. Another way of saying this is, "You create your own reality." For example, the realities of children and primitive peoples are indeed magical, so for them magic exists. They can see it at work all the time. However our modern society trains us to reject our intuition and inner feelings about the nature of our world. By the time we reach adulthood most of us have shut down our intuitive channels and rejected the belief that we have power over our world. In fact, our social training teaches us the contrary belief: that we are helpless, at the mercy of forces beyond our control. It is obviously not in society's interest to have dreamers and free-thinkers walking around pursuing their own visions and going their own way; or so society believes. It is society's purpose to train armies and a labor force, to have at its disposal mindless robots who will do as they are told rather than ask questions and think for themselves. Therefore, by the time most people in our society reach adulthood, they have been taught to ignore their own hearts' messages and to fear their innate magical powers. Do magicians have supernatural power? This depends upon your definition of "supernatural. " Magicians do have supernatural power, but so does everybody else. Magicians have just developed their power. Magicians have not permitted their social training to erase as much of the power they were born with as most other people have done; or else they have recuperated it through magical training. What is "power"? It's the same thing as luck. Luck is actually a better word for it, but the term "luck" as commonly used connotes something outside of our conscious control. We think of power as something we can consciously command. In fact, this isn't really true: it is power which commands us. But at least we are consciously aware of what's happening. Luck, on the other hand, seems serendipitous because we don't see the connection – how we are making our own luck. What about powers like psychic healing, seeing auras, crystal gazing, knowing the future, communicating with spirits, astral projection, etc.? These are all abilities which can be developed with practice. Some people have such gifts from birth due to their karma from past lives and their particular purpose for incarnating in this lifetime. What about stopping one's enemies with a psychic blast, or making things appear or disappear, or bewitching people? For the most part the powers that magicians have on television or in the movies are fantasy. One thing that is factually correct about how magicians with special powers are portrayed in the popular media is that having special powers isn't much help in dealing with everyday life. Bewitching other people is possible. Everybody is doing it to everyone else, albeit subconsciously, already ("love at first sight" is an example). This will be explained in a later Magical Almanac article. Do vampires really exist? Of course (see the December 2008 issue of Magical Almanac for details). Suffice it to say that what vampires do is only an extreme form of something most people are doing to each other all the time anyway, namely sucking other people's energy (invading other people's space). I've tried using spells (the person who wrote this, not me) I've gotten out of books, but they don't work. This is because other people's spells are pretty much useless. It's your own intent that matters, not the words you say. To make spells work you have to have faith. It's the certainty that a spell will work which makes it work. Do we really create our own realities? Much of the time it would seem that this isn't true. It appears to us that things just happen. But what about our dreams? Do we create them, or do they just happen? Earlier it was said that existence doesn't exist. What this means is that what we experience when we are awake is just a dream. This is literally true. It certainly seems that what we experience in the everyday world, while we are awake, is real. However the dreams we had last night certainly seemed real also at the time we were dreaming them. Similarly, it is merely our belief that what happens to us while we are awake is real, that makes it real. Just as when we awaken from a dream we realize that it wasn't real, so too is there a point of view from which we can awaken from being awake and realize that being awake isn't real either. That point of view is magic. Most people intuit that magic is real, that it does work; and that the scientists and academics are lying to them when they deny this fact. This is because we still remember from childhood that the world is magical. Usually this memory is unconscious. On a conscious level our social training has made us forget what we knew as children: that the world is basically a happy place; that the sun and wind and clouds and rain are alive, and can talk to us and tell us their secrets. Unfortunately for the seeker after truth, there is lots of misinformation floating around. New Age writers are often no more truthful than are scientists and academics. This is because lots of people who are ostensibly into magic don't really want true information. For them it's just an image they have of themselves, but they're actually afraid of true knowledge, as well they should be. To be a true magician requires tremendous courage and willingness to follow one's own intuition and intent, no matter what society or other people think. Don't believe for a minute that anyone is going to strew your path with rose petals – quite the contrary! Being a magician necessitates uncompromising honesty with oneself. It entails, for example, facing the fact of your death directly, every day in every way. It entails seeing yourself clearly, with all your flaws and selfishness. It entails giving up the belief that you're special: that anyone, including God, owes you anything or will help or protect you. It entails understanding that you aren't going to suddenly have your luck change without you taking 100% responsibility yourself for making your dreams come true. The reason why many people are afraid of magic isn't because they're afraid it is evil, which is what society has told them. Rather, it is because they are afraid of taking 100% responsibility for and control over their own lives. It is much easier to believe in fables like "You will go to heaven when you die" or "Your investments will still be solvent when you're ready to retire" or "Three Mile Island and Chernobyl were flukes – that'll never happen again." It's easier to fall under the spell of the lullabies which society sings to us to keep us from thinking for ourselves than to face up to the truth. The truth is that there isn't any security in life. Neither God nor society care about what happens to you. You have no one and nothing to rely upon except yourself. Magicians train themselves to take full responsibility for their lives. This gives them confidence in dealing with whatever may come, be it illness, poverty, death, or whatever else may happen. This is the basic tenet of magic. It is a truth that many people are afraid to face because they don't understand that being vulnerable and defenseless does not necessarily mean being helpless and powerless. Photobucket The US Army (and by extension the US Government) defines Wicca as follows... Government entities do recognize Wicca as a religion. In 2001, the revised edition of the U.S. Air Force Personnel Data System (MilMod) included Dianic Wicca, Druidism, Gardnerian Wicca, Pagan, Seax Wicca, Shamanism, and Wicca. Not only that, the Military Chaplain's Handbook acknowledges Wicca within its pages and outlines procedures for interacting with Wiccan and Pagan soldiers. The excerpt US Army prepared a book for the guidance of its chaplains when dealing with a soldier of a non-traditional faith. The book is: "Religious Requirements and Practices of Certain Selected Groups: A Handbook for Chaplains," and was first published in 1978. The 1990 edition appears to have gone out of print. However a new version was published in 2001 under the same name. The the U.S. Department of the Army is listed as as editor 1 Pages 231-236 of the 1990 edition contained the legal recognized description of Wicca. The text appears below: WICCA ADDRESS: No central address. Wiccan worship groups, called covens, are essentially autonomous. Many, but far from all, have affiliated with: Covenant of the Goddess, P.O. Box 1226 Berkeley, CA 94704 OTHER NAMES BY WHICH KNOWN: Witchcraft; Goddess worshippers; Neo-Paganism, Paganism, Norse (or any other ethnic designation) Paganism, Earth Religion, Old Religion, Druidism, Shamanism. Note: All of these groups have some basic similarities and many surface differences of expression with Wicca. LEADERSHIP: No central leadership. The Covenant of the Goddess annually elects a First Officer and there is a constitutional limit of two consecutive terms, but in practice officers have almost always served for one year only. In 1991, there are two co-First Officers, Phoenix Whitebirch and Brandy Williams. MEMBERSHIP: Because of the complete autonomy of covens, thi! s cannot be determined. There are an estimated of 50,000 Wiccans in the United States (1). HISTORICAL ORIGIN: Wicca is a reconstruction of the Nature worship of tribal Europe, strongly influenced by the living Nature worship traditions of tribal peoples in other parts of the world. The works of such early twentieth century writers as Margaret Murray, Robert Graves and Gerald B. Gardner began the renewal of interest in the Old Religion. After the repeal of the anti-Witchcraft laws in Britain in 1951, Gardner publicly declared himself a Witch and began to gather a group of students and worshipers. In 1962, two of his students, Raymond and Rosemary Buckland (religious names: Lady Rowen and Robat), emigrated to the United States and began teaching Gardnerian Witchcraft here. At the same time, other groups of people became interested through reading books by Gardner and others. Many covens were spontaneously formed, using rituals created from a combination of research and individual inspiration. These self-created covens are today regarded as just as valid as those who can trace a "lineage" of teaching back to England. In 1975, a very diverse group of covens who wanted to secure the legal protections and benefits of church status formed Covenant of the Goddess (CoG), which is incorporated in the State of California and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. CoG does not represent all, or even a majority of Wiccans. A coven or an individual need not be affiliated with CoG in order to validly practice the religion. But CoG is the largest single public Wiccan organization, and it is cross-Traditional (I.e. Non-denominational) . BASIC BELIEFS: Wiccans worship the sacred as immanent in Nature, often personified as Mother Earth and Father Sky. As polytheists, they may use many other names for Deity. Individuals will often choose Goddesses or Gods from any of the world's pantheons whose stories are particularly inspiring and use those Deities as a focus for personal devotions. Similarly, covens will! use par ticular Deity names as a group focus, and these are often held secret by the groups. It is very important to be aware that Wiccans do not in any way worship or believe in "Satan," "the Devil," or any similar entities. They point out that "Satan" is a symbol of rebellion against and inversion of the Christian and Jewish traditions. Wiccans do not revile the Bible. They simply regard it as one among many of the world's mythic systems, less applicable than some to their core values, but still deserving just as much respect as any of the others. Most Wiccan groups also practice magic, by which they mean the direction and use of "psychic energy," those natural but invisible forces which surround all living things. Some members spell the word "magick," to distinguish it from sleight of hand entertainments. Wiccans employ such means as dance, chant, creative visualization and hypnosis to focus and direct psychic energy for the purpose of healing, protecting and aiding members in various endeavors. Such assistance is also extended to non-members upon request. Many, but not all, Wiccans believe in reincarnation. Some take this as a literal description of what happens to people when they die. For others, it is a symbolic model that helps them deal with the cycles and changes within this life. Neither Reincarnation nor any other literal belief can be used as a test of an individual's validity as a member of the Old Religion. Most groups have a handwritten collection of rituals and lore, known as a Book of Shadows. Part of the religious education of a new member will be to hand copy this book for him or herself. Over they years, as inspiration provides, new material will be added. Normally, access to these books is limited to initiated members of the religion. PRACTICES AND BEHAVIORAL STANDARDS: The core ethical statement of Wicca, called the "Wiccan Rede" states "an it harm none, do what you will." The Rede fulfills the same function as does the "Golden Rule" for Jews and Christians; all other ethical teachi! ngs are considered to be elaborations and applications of the Rede. It is a statement of situational ethics, emphasizing at once the individual's responsibility to avoid harm to others and the widest range of personal autonomy in "victimless" activities. Wicca has been described as having a "high-choice" ethic. Because of the basic Nature orientation of the religion, many Wiccans will regard all living things as Sacred, and show a special concern for ecological issues. For this reason, individual conscience will lead some to take a pacifist position. Some are vegetarians. Others will feel that, as Nature's Way includes self-defense, they should participate in wars that they conscientiously consider to be just. The religion does not dictate either position, but requires each member to thoughtfully and meditatively examine her or his own conscience and to live by it. Social forces generally do not yet allow Witches to publicly declare their religious faith without fear of reprisals such as loss of job, child custody challenges, ridicule, etc. Prejudice against Wiccans is the result of public confusion between Witchcraft and Satanism. Wiccans in the military, especially those who may be posted in countries perceived to be particularly intolerant, will often have their dogtags read "No Religious Preference." Concealment is a traditional Wiccan defense against persecution, so non-denominational dogtags should not contravene a member's request for religious services. Wiccans celebrate eight festivals, called "Sabbats," as a means of attunement to the seasonal rhythms of Nature. These are: January 31 [Called Oimelc, Brigit, or February Eve], March 21 [Ostara or Spring Equinox], April 30 [Beltane or May Eve], June 22 [Midsummer, Litha or Summer Solstice], July 31 [Lunasa or Lammas], September 21 [Harvest, Mabon or Autumn Equinox], October 31 [Samhain, Sowyn or Hallows], and December 21 [Yule or Winter Solstice]. Some groups find meetings within a few days of those dates to be accep! table, o thers require the precise date. In addition, most groups will meet for worship at each Full Moon, and many will also meet on the New Moon. Meetings for religious study will often be scheduled at any time convenient to the members, and rituals can be scheduled whenever there is a need (i.e. for a healing). Ritual jewelry is particularly important to many Wiccans. In addition to being a symbol of religious dedication, these talismans are often blessed by the coven back home and felt to carry the coven's protective and healing energy.

Hello My life path number 11
This number represents who you are at birth and the native traits that you will carry with you through life.
The Life Path number is the most important one and describes the nature of this journey through life. It is also known as your major life lesson.
You life path number means
The number 11 Life Path has the connotation of illumination describing its general focus. This is the number associated with spiritual awareness. As one of the two master numbers, 11 vibrations yield understanding and knowledge beyond the grasp of others. The attitude toward life of those possessing this Life Path is somewhat extreme; extremely intuitive, avant-garde, idealistic, visionary, and cultured. These extremes make you an interesting, if unusual person, with much to offer society. The Life Path 11 person is deep thinking, and you are no doubt interested in understanding many of life's mysteries and more intriguing facets. Your inventive mind and broadminded views will permit you to succeed in life in any number of ventures... You can best serve society, however, in those endeavors utilizing your skills of counseling and guidance. Much of your idealism is people oriented and quite humanitarian in nature. You expect a great deal of yourself and of those to whom you are close.
On the negative side, there is a lot of nervous tension associated with the 11-life path, and you can be a difficult person to deal with because of this. For this reason, relationships, at times, can be difficult.
This is a Life Path that seems to feature broad mood swings between the elation and depression. You are likely to have trouble making decisions and getting your life in gear, so to speak.
There is a tendency for the 11 to harbor feelings of uneasiness, and dissatisfaction with accomplishments and personal progress in life. Your grandiose schemes usually make sense, but you can get off the track and they can be very impractical. You have a very distinct side that lacks common sense, and you are quite often unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality. In this regard, you are perhaps more of a dreamer than a doer.
When you do get on target, your ideas seem to have been inspired on high. Perhaps you are not a leader, but you are a visionary and a very talented idea person.

The Purple Flame I'm not sure where it came from
But, I am sure it is a part
What part I know not yet
But, it is right here , in my Heart
This flame was given to me
At a lowest point in my Life
'Twas one very special
That wants to ease my strife
Purple is the color
Of ones Inner Most Being
Guess that special one could see
My Inner Self is in sadness, not singing
Purple is the color of Royals
Of which I am not one
Then again, maybe I am
To a few, maybe to some
My worth it does not measure
By what I can do or have done
I am cared about for just being Me
Yes, I can see that I am by some
Here alone in my Mind
I know I am loved, understood
How can I ever say Thank You
You are a grand one, so good
I don't know why you understand me
I know not from where you came
I do know I feel deep within
Your warmth and this Purple Flame......

Your Type is INFJ
Counselors are scarce, little more than one percent of the population, and can be hard to get to know.

INFJs are distinguished by both their complexity of character and the unusual range and depth of their talents
Introverted intuitives, INFJs enjoy a greater clarity of perception of inner, unconscious processes than all but their INTJ cousins. Just as SP types commune with the object and "live in the here and now" of the physical world, INFJs readily grasp the hidden psychological stimuli behind the more observable dynamics of behavior and affect. Their amazing ability to deduce the inner workings of the mind, will and emotions of others gives INFJs their reputation as prophets and seers. Unlike the confining, routinizing nature of introverted sensing, introverted intuition frees this type to act insightfully and spontaneously as unique solutions arise on an event by event basis.
INFJs are twice blessed with clarity of vision, both internal and external. Just as they possess inner vision which is drawn to the forms of the unconscious, they also have external sensing perception which readily takes hold of worldly objects.
Counselors themselves can seldom tell how they came to read others' feelings so keenly. This extreme sensitivity to others could very well be the basis of the Counselor's remarkable ability to experience a whole array of psychic phenomena.
Photobucket Owl Magic, Omens, Wisdom The owl is the symbol of the feminine, the moon and the night. The owl is the bird of magic and darkness, of prophecy and wisdom. The owl is associated with Athena. An owl totem gives you the power to extract secrets. Meditate on the owl and things will be revealed. Listen to its voice inside of you. You will hear not what is being said by others, but what is hidden. You can detect subtleties of voice that others cannot. People cannot deceive a person who has an owl totem. Owl people can see into the darkness of other souls. Most owl people are clairvoyant because of this ability. It can be very scary at times. Learn to trust your instincts about people. Let your owl totem guide you.

Snowy Owl: Conserve your energy until the time is right; be observant of your surroundings. Has the power of prophecy.

Owl Are you keeping secrets? Owl is the Mystery of silent wisdom, heightened vision and hearing and the ability to pinpoint subtleties of motives, actions and people. He teaches the power of silence and contemplation and the balance of waiting and acting. When action is taken it is swift and exacting. Owl teaches the ability to extract secrets from within, so listen carefully. He also aids in clearing deceptions - within and without. Do you trust your instincts about people? Are you listening to your surroundings? Do you have patience? Owl has much wisdom in teaching how to see and sense the world around you along with determination and patience in waiting for the opportune moment.

Norns The Norse Norns are the female beings who hold the destiny of each individual in their hands. There are three Norns total, each of whom occupies a specific role in their existential occupations. Named Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld, these three female creatures represent the Past, Present, and Future, respectively. They live under the great world tree, Yggdrasil, which is said to be surrounding by nine worlds. While legends differ as to whether these Norns are of Divine heritage, or come from a line of Elves, they are said to be faceless, and those who attempt to see their face will confront their fate at that very moment.

..Traits of an Empath

Empaths are often quiet and can take a while to handle a compliment for

they're more inclined to point out another's positive attributes, They are highly

expressive in all areas of emotional connection, and talk openly, and, at

times, quite frankly in respect to themselves, They may have few problems

talking about their feelings

However, they can be the exact opposite: reclusive and apparently

unresponsive at the best of times, They may even appear ignorant, Some are

very good at blocking out others and that's not always a bad thing, at least for

the learning empath struggling with a barrage of emotions from others, as

well as their own feelings

Empaths have a tendency to openly feel what is outside of them more so than

what is inside of them, This can cause empaths to ignore their own needs,

In general an empath is non-violent, non-aggressive and leans more towards

being the peacemaker, Any area filled with disharmony creates an

uncomfortable feeling in an empath, If they find themselves in the middle of a

confrontation, they will endeavor to settle the situation as quickly as possible,

if not avoid it all together, If any harsh words are expressed in defending

themselves, they will likely resent their lack of self-control, and have a

preference to peacefully resolve the problem quickly

Empaths are sensitive to TV, videos, movies, news and broadcasts, Violence

or emotional dramas depicting shocking scenes of physical or emotional

pain inflicted on adults, children or animals can bring an empath easily to

tears.

At times, they may feel physically ill or choke back the tears, Some

empaths will struggle to comprehend any such cruelty, and will have grave

difficulty in expressing themselves in the face of another's ignorance,

closed-mindedness and obvious lack of compassion, They simply cannot

justify the suffering they feel and see,

People of all walks of life and animals are attracted to the warmth and

genuine compassion of empaths, Regardless of whether others are aware of

one being empathic, people are drawn to them as a metal object is to a

magnet! They are like beacons of light

Even complete strangers find it easy to talk to empaths about the most

personal things, and before they know it, they have poured out their hearts

and souls without intending to do so is as though on a

sub-conscious level that person knows instinctively that empaths would listen

with compassionate understanding

Here are the listeners of life, Empaths are often problem solvers, thinkers,

and studiers of many things, As far as empaths are concerned, where a

problem is, so too is the answer, They often will search until they find one--if

only for peace of mind

You hate to be alone and prefer a small crowd of your closer friends. The ideal girl. Sometimes you can be very, very shy. Open up, life is to be lived, not wasted.

The Elves themselves do not record history as we do. Much like the Beliefs of the Druids (Drwyds) to follow them, there was an innate or Cultural taboo to not put to writing that which was most sacred. The Elves have a history that is older than any Human recordings and yet We must still accept that they are of the ‘ninth generation.’ Their Personal history and genetic memory, although vast, does not present Some obscure vision, story of Creation, or any absolute “Genesis” Within. “We have always been,” they claim. You are a night elf! You are a gifted person and you have the rising sign of the moon.

Origin : Elves were a very mysterious race from the beginning of time. Later they became supernatural beings, mainly shaped as humans. They were worshipped in trees, mountains and waterfalls. Description : Elves vary in size from 4'10" and 5'8". However, according to their delicate bodies they seem much taller than they really are. Often male and female elves are hard to discern, at first glance. Both sexes usually have big, expressive eyes (in the most splendid colors). They wear their hair uncut and open, have graceful, fragile features and are of extraordinary beauty. Male elves also don't have any beard growth. Very typical for elves are their pointed ears, and high cheekbones. In modern descriptions, elves are either light or dark, the light elves having starlike eyes, faces brighter than the sun, and golden-colored hair; the dark elves are pitch black and have sometimes fluorescent eyes, this quality being indicative of their dealing with black magic. Both are attractive, in appearance at least. Elves prefer greens and greenish-greys while dark elves prefer blacks, dark grey, and sometimes silver. Species: Dark or light, the elfic race is rarely seen and if so, elves only appear on certain times and on special places in the untouched nature. During the course of time elves moved to other plac! es in the world and in many tribes their spiritual shape was lost completely and elves changed to beings consisting of blood and flesh. The light elves are a peaceful, nature-loving who love beautiful things and often try themselves in the arts of drawing and music. The black or dark elves are also called "Drow". Beautiful, agile, proud, dexterous and extremely deadly, they are the Drow, Elves of the underground. Very few is know about them. Powers: In comparison to humans elves are stronger in spirit and in limb and have an exceptional constitution and endurance. When they grow older they seldom get weaker, instead they become wiser and even more fair. Elven senses, especially of hearing and sight, are much keener and intense than those of Men and are highly resitant to extremes of temperatures and also have several natural defenses against magical influences. The long life-spans of elves may be accounted to one of the main reasons that elves are very calm and patient in all their actions. Even if some elves are said to be immortal, elves of all other tribes die a natural death after long lives. The amount of years elves live indeed varies enormously, ranging from 100 years to over 1000. It is also known that very often elves end their lives of their own will when they see a necessity to do so or if they think that their life's goal has been reached. Of course elves may also die when they are wounded severely, but in general elves heal very fast when they are tended to quickly. Death on the other hand is nothing an elf fears. The fact of death is interpreted by the elves as a return to nature. Lore: Elves live in forests while dark elves live in deep underground caves. In spring they are viewed celebrating the blossoms and during the summer they swim in the rivers with their friends ondines. Elves usually settle in dense forests or at wooded lakes and lead quiet lives without interfering directly in other races activities and struggle for domination.

Which Mythical Creature Are You? You got: Elf photo anigif_9dca0a2690f0d78a3aa34c16c213434e-0_zps78d785f0.gif You beautiful, aloof creature. You’re one of the most revered and honored creatures in the fantasy world, but you’re also very hard to pin down. You’re an interesting mix of empathetic politician and pragmatic dreamer. You believe in the power of justice, but you also believe in the power of protecting yourself. You’re always willing to lend a hand, but not to the point where it will negatively affect you.

THE OLD SOUL
OLD SOULS live and let live.
They seek the route of least Resistance.. .they're individualistic and usually easy going.
They have an Inner knowing of the waste of time in pursuing fame and fortune and Therefore create the appearance of being "laid back."
Old souls are highly Competent - even in roles they don't particularly like.
They tend to choose Work that is pleasant and undemanding, leaving them free to pursue their Desired goals easily...unless the job adds to the spiritual search.
They may Or may not seek higher education... but definitely will seek it if they sense it's needed for their chosen path.
Old souls create confidence in animals. And their choice of medical care tends to be alternative and holistic.
Old Souls are here to teach others their spiritual understandings.
Their Philosophies and writings are simple and easy to read.
Old souls religion is Far reaching and has no label.
A grove of trees is a sacred place to them.
They seldom cling to dogma and prefer personal spiritual practices.
However, Old souls are wise enough to be discreet in their religious practices and Know how to pass in public undetected.
They focus on searching for the Spiritual truth and have a finer sense of knowing what is true than any Other souls level.
Old souls all over the world share the experience of Emptiness and a longing for that feeling of home.

photo zjAn1ui4zJWl_zps75ea7de8.jpg Instead of Power it should say knowledge. A True Wizard has a never ending Thirst for Knowledge.

Every day we normally experience three states of consciousness: Waking, Dreaming and sleeping. But only by spending time in silence, stillness, or Meditation do we experience a fourth state of consciousness where we start To glimpse our soul. When we glimpse our soul, we become a little more Intuitive. We start to feel that things are not just what they seem to be; There is something more behind the scenes. The physical world we normally experience is a shadow of the real world. The Real world, the world of spirit, exists behind a veil, and the veil is our Own conditioning. In truth, we are not bound by the world of space, time, Matter, and causation, but the veil prevents us from seeing this truth. It Also prevents us from living in power, freedom, and grace. In the fourth state of consciousness, we begin to sense the deeper reality That is orchestrating the physical world, and there is a tearing in the veil That separates the physical and spiritual realms. Just as we have to wake up From the dream state to experience waking consciousness, we have to wake up From what we call waking consciousness to glimpse our spirit, our inner self This is called glimpsing the soul, and it’s the fourth state of Consciousness. It’s simply to be in touch with our soul. This leads to the fifth state of consciousness, or cosmic consciousness, When our soul fully wakes up in waking, dreaming, and sleeping. Our body can Be fast asleep, but our soul, the silent witness, is watching the body in Deep sleep. Our body can be walking, and the silent witness is watching the Body walk. Our awareness is localized in space time, and it’s non-local, or Transcendent, at the same time. If we don’t interfere with nature’s intelligence, then we start to awaken Into the sixth state of consciousness, divine consciousness. In divine Consciousness, we see and feel the presence of spirit in everything. When we Wake up in divine consciousness, we don’t just see a leaf, or a table, or a Cloud, or a rainbow; we see the whole universe being all these things. Next, we waken to the seventh state of consciousness, which is unity Consciousness. This is when the spirit inside us, which is now fully awake, Merges with the spirit inside objects, which are also now fully awake. The universe is conscious, and because it is conscious, it is conscious of Itself. So the eighth state of consciousness, infinite consciousness, is its Own observer. The observer is the discontinuity, the gap, the off. **origin & author ~ BlackWolfShadow* *

CURRENT MOON

The whole "pointed ears" things comes from the Alfar, the original source of the elf legends. They lived a couple thousand years ago in the region between the Gautelfir and Raumelfir rivers, a region directly on the border of that are now Norway and Sweden. After the dispersal of the great northern tribe, they created their own culture apart from that of their neighbors. Where others bred up for size and strength, they bred down for size, and up for agility and speed. Eventually they were subsumed by the neighboring tribes and merged with them, and the genetic trait of pointed ears was dispersed into the general Scandinavian population. The Vikings spread it further by conquest and by rape, but the real dispersal of the trait took place when the Danes conquered Ireland. From there it spread to England, and English sailors spread it around the world. Many of the people I've met with pointed ears are as stone-footed as most modern people from industrialized countries. Conversely, more of our number have big floppy round ears than not, so it's not a mark in which I place any real credence. In The Summer Countries we are photonic, i.e. beings of energy (light mostly). The Ehlonae only take corporeal form in those lands if we so choose. Here in the middle realms we are whatever she makes us, and the form is fitted to the need. Generally it's the same as the dominant form of the world in need. That's the legend, anyway. Me personally, I think we're just people tired of living stupidly, who want to make a saner, more sensible modern culture that incorporates the best of ancient and modern wisdom. Argent

Air is the element of the intellect; it is the realm of thought, which is the first step toward creation. Magickally speaking, Air is the clear, uncluttered, pure visualization which is a powerful tool for change. It is also the movement, the impetus that sends the visualization out toward manifestation.
It rules spells and rituals involving travel, instruction, freedom, obtaining knowledge, discovering lost items, uncovering lies and so on.
It can also be used to develop the psychic faculties.
Spells involving Air usually include the act of placing an object in the air or dropping something off the side of a mountain or other high places so that the object actually connects physically with the element.
Air is masculine, being dry, expansive and active. It is the element that excels in places of learning, and which is at work while we theorize, think and ponder.
Air rules the East because this is the direction of the greatest light, and the light of wisdom and consciousness. Its color is yellow, the yellow of the Sun and the sky at dawn.
Air governs the magick of the four winds, most divination. Concentration and visualization magick.
