ik vlieg met de zoon van mijn zus naar Sint Maarten voor een waardig afscheid van zijn vader – het is zijn wens, omdat mijn zus het niet kan verdragen. Het gebeurde op 11 september 2021: na een prachtige boottocht ging hij 's avonds naar bed, wisselde hij welterustenkusjes uit en draaide zich om – om vervolgens te overlijden. Het was een tragedie. We krijgen deze reis gratis aangeboden door het hotel. De zoon van mijn zus werkt al 25 jaar op Schiphol – petje af voor hem – en heeft een prachtige gouden speld gekregen; hij wil die graag bij de urn van zijn vader leggen als we terug zijn in Nederland. Een mooi en ontroerend gebaar. Ik sta hem bij!
